We are accepting referrals for the following surgical problems:

Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction

  • Groin hernia surgery (inguinal / femoral / obturator) – mesh & tissue-based repairs (Shouldice & Desarda)

  • Abdominal hernia surgery (ventral / incisional / parastomal / flank / diaphragm)

  • Rectus diastasis with concurrent hernias

  • Abdominal wall reconstruction and component separation

  • Post-hernia surgery complications (recurrent hernias, chronic pain, mesh infection, fistulas)

  • Paraesophageal hernias

Waitlist

Our current waitlist to see our surgeons is 6 - 12 months. Please note that all referrals are triaged by our surgeons directly and prioritized appropriately.

Endoscopy

  • Upper Endoscopy (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) - dyspepsia, dysphagia, vomiting, GI bleed, weight loss, GERD, PUD etc.

  • Lower Endoscopy (flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy) - FIT+, family history, history of polyps, rectal bleeding, change in bowel habits, weight loss, diarrhea or constipation, etc.

  • Feeding access (PEG, PEJ, PEGJ)

  • Endoscopic management of surgical complications and biliary interventions

General Surgery

  • Gallbladder Surgery

  • Small and Large Bowel/Colon Surgery

If you are a patient looking to schedule an appointment, please email clinic@nthernia.ca. We kindly ask that you do not call the office due to the large volumes of calls we receive each day and the risk that you cannot reach us.

Referrals can be faxed to 647-313-1335. Please include the patient’s previous hernia operative reports, imaging, and bloodwork including an updated HbA1C.
